The Grace of Wonder 3-29-2021

“The grace of Wonder is a grace few people ever think about.

Perhaps most people do not even consider Wonder a grace, but every attribute can be elevated to the power of a grace.

The grace of Wonder lifts an ordinary thought into the holy atmosphere. Instead of saying, “I could never do that,” you are filled with a sense of wonderment. And you find yourself saying, “Why can’t I do that?

In fact, I will do that!”

The grace of wonderment evaporates obstacles. All you can say is yes.

Lord, just the thought that this world is an intimate, holy theater of life fills me with Wonder.

But that thought comes and goes. I cannot hold it.

Grant me the grace of Wonder, the experience of feeling the power of wonderment incarnate in my blood and bones.

I know that experience will change my life. The world will become an intimate, holy place for me—and there is no looking back after that.

But it fills me with Wonder to wake up and pray –

– “Hey, what do You want me to do with my life today, Lord?”
