ALL HE WANTS IS YOU 11/11/2020

“The beauty of God is that He doesn’t hold us to different standards and different levels. He doesn’t love us based on what we do. Faith is what separates one group of people from the next. It is not our earthly success or what family you were born into. It doesn’t matter if we cruised through school or struggled our entire life to keep up with the people around us.

Faith in Jesus is the game changer. Faith in Jesus evens the playing field. When we follow Jesus, we become a child of the one true living God.

Just think about the implications of Paul saying to an ancient society, “It doesn’t matter what family you were born into. It doesn’t matter if you grew up with Jewish traditions, other religious traditions or no religious background at all. There is even no distinction between a slave or a free man within the house of God!

Everything has changed. Old has been made new. God has saved people and all are now one in Him through faith.“

This is the beauty of who God is. There are no class systems in His house. There are only those in Jesus and those who are lost. We either have faith and access to God or we are faithless and have never tasted the sweetness of grace. It is the beauty of the Gospel, yet our flesh fights the thought of it. Our sinful nature is angered by this because of the work we put in and everything we wish we could do.

It’s time to release that. Your desire to earn your way or perform your way into the blessings of God is not needed. All He wants is you.

Do not be deceived by your success or lack thereof. Submit yourself to God and He will provide everything you need without you wrecking your life in the process.

Prayer Time – Lord, as difficult as life can be, I recognize that you are still greater. Life might throw the most unfair circumstances my way, but I don’t need the playing field to be even in life because the playing field is even in your house.

You do not look upon your children differently. You love them equally no matter their success or social class. There is no need to compare myself because in Jesus we are all made to become more and more like Jesus.

I thank you that I don’t have to work my way up the ladder to be in your good graces, but instead it is your good pleasure to show me grace and mercy. To call me a child in your house is the greatest thing I could ever ask for. Continue to help me fight comparison to others and instead help me rely on change, blessing and success that can only come from you. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
