Reading & Pondering Today 3-15

“Let me not be deterred by the roughness of the road.

The journey to enlightenment is not always easy. Only the darkness I have seen in myself can I then release to God. That process can be painful, but it is pain that leads to peace.

Let me not be deterred by the roughness of this road. Spiritual living is not always quiet, and spiritual relationships are not always easy. I am a pilgrim on my way to bliss, and I will keep in mind the destination of my heart.

Dear God,

Please send Your angels to guide me
As I make my way toward freedom from self.

As my tortured ego cries out in pain
Upon sensing its own demise,
May I be reminded that the death of my ego
Is the birth of my true self.”

Excerpt From: Williamson, Marianne. “A Year of Miracles.”
