“I surrender to a power greater than my own.
In surrendering to God, I surrender to something bigger than myself—to a universe that knows what it’s doing. When I stop trying to control events, they fall into a natural order, an order that works. I’m at rest while a power much greater than my own takes over, and it does a much better job than I could have done.
I can learn to trust that the power that holds galaxies together can handle the circumstances of my relatively little life. I choose to remember in any moment that a surrendered life is a more successful life, because it is under the control of a power much greater than my own.
Dear God,
I surrender to You
All I am and all I have.
Every thought, every feeling, every yearning,
I surrender to You.”
